Morgan Edwards
Coach Morgan grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area where he swam for the San Leandro Beavers, one of the age group teams that pioneered age group swimming in California. He enjoyed success as a high school swimmer where he attained All America recognition in 1962 in two events: 50 freestyle -10th in the nation (22.5); 200 freestyle relay- 2nd in the nation (1:31.2)
He came to Colorado to attend the University of Denver on an athletic scholarship where he was a four year letterman and qualified for and participated in the Division I NCAA Swimming Championships. While a student at DU, he served as Head Coach of Skyline Acres Swim Team (Mile High Summer League) for four seasons. While a graduate student, he was an Assistant Coach for the DU Intercollegiate Swimming Program and also a coach for the DU Hilltoppers age group team. In the time since his college years he has participated as a masters swimmer and triathlete; currently he is the Fitness Committee Chair for the Colorado Masters Swimming Association.
During the summer months Coach Morgan is the Head Coach of the SRA (Stroh Ranch - Anthology) Dolphins Swim Team (180 swimmers/13 coaches).
In addition to his swimming interests and since his retirement from his professional career in the telecommunications industry, he is a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer and indoor cycling instructor at the Parker Recreation Center.
He holds an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and a MBA from the University of Denver; he completed post graduate studies at Williams College.
